Biography

Questions emailed to me will be answered as they are received. Please keep the questions related to my novels and writing. Personal questions will not be answered. Names of the persons asking the questions will not be contained in the answers.

When did you start to write?

I began to write at an early age, all short stories. Charles Jackson, author of the lost weekend, was kind enough to review some of my work and was very supportive. I put my writing on hold while in the military and resumed writing when I retired in 1981.

How long does it take to write a novel?

It depends on the plot and the complexity of the characters. There is no real time period involved. I normally write a novel in approximately three months. Some take longer to develop.

Do you write in “longhand”?

No, all my writing is on a computer. I find it much easier to edit and move text on the computer. I still remember the work involved with typing pages over and over to make changes … too time consuming.

Do you intend to write more novels about the Kincaid brothers?

Not at the present time. I have other projects in mind, but that does not mean that I would not return to the Kincaid brothers at a future date.

Why do you write about the west, when you are a native New Englander?

I have always loved the west and the 1800 period of development in the west. I have lived in Colorado, California, Texas and have learned to love reading westerns from my father.
